Ok, here's a dumb question.... What is the notch or slot in the Kick Spindle Bushing (#2 on the CA77 Diagram, #20 on the CB77) for? There is a matching slot in the upper engine case and I aligned the two of them today when I put the bottom back on my CA77 motor, but what is it's purpose? Oil feed for the bushing? Seems like if oil was the purpose they would have used a knock pin like they did in the bearings which would also be used to keep the bushing from turning (if that was a issue).
Anyhow, just thought I'd ask.
tnx

Yup... Right you are. I checked my photos and knock pins on each end. It's there, I just forgot. I put all the knock pins in at the same time, then assembled the bottom end. When I was assembling the left case side, I remembered that slot and that was what prompted the posting.OldStan wrote:You better look again. There is supposed to be a 7x12 knock pin that goes into the upper housing to keep that bushing from turning.
Thanks for the "Wake-Up" notice :-)
