Back brake cable CL77 correct length??
Can someone please measure their back brake cable? I bought a cable and the person I bought it from said it was correct, it seems short in terms of the cable inside of it. The measurement on mine is 26" long. Is that correct?? I searched for it on this forum but couldn't find it.
Thanks in advance.
Jeff

ok, well the length is right I guess. Maybe I am not putting it on correct. Do you have any pics of yours where it goes on the back brake hub and then on the spot where the back brake switch is? I looked at some pictures of other bikes and I see how it goes on I think but it just doesn't want to fit correctly. Do you have the measurement of how much cable sticks out of each end after the rubber accordion style part?
Thanks for your help.

Jeff,
On my set up, there is about 4" of cable showing on the brake switch side and roughly 2-3/4" showing on the brake panel side. The threaded adjuster is at it's maximum travel (to the left) with no threaded portion showing beyond the brake panel support collar and out board lock nut. With this set up, the brake pedal travels maybe 1-/12" down before engaging the brakes. If I can get some pictures I'll send 'em.

Mike,
Thanks a lot for you help, it is much appreciated. So, that 4 inches and 2.75 inches you are talking about must include the accordion looking rubber piece. I guess I will just go at it again.
