restoration of a dutch honda cb72

Hi,

No incorrect, please take a good look at the pictures I provided in the mentioned link.
The measured distance is between the bottom of both sprockets (clutch and crank sprocket).

Now I see, I first have to take both sprockets off. First I have to find the tool to remove the cranckcasenut. If I find someone to lend it out I will post the info.
In the meanwhile I have opened the oilpump. What do I have to measure or look at if it's still good?

Before I go further, please read this carefully : http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=65233.25
It's not a CB72 pump, but the basics are the same. Look especially to the damaged rotor, and look for the same issue's on your gears and housing. I will take pictures of good and bad gears and oil pump housings and display them here later on.

btw, it won't harm to read the whole thread in the given link. Many issue's displayed there are for bikes in general the same.

Yesterday I had some time to work on the cb72. Because the nut on the crankshaft isn't off yet I cleaned the carbs in an ultrawavebad. While cleaning I saw there is a spring missing behind one of the two adjusting screws (don't know the name in english).

So I removed the clutch today:

I measured the springs:

35.53, 35.63, 35.67, 35.70 mm --> I will instal new ones.

The primary chain has a play of 20.83mm between the sprockets. Not so bad but I have to instal a new one because it's broken.

Then I looked at the friction discs. In bill Silvers manual he says that the frictions discs should be at least 2.5mm thick. I measured 3.83mm for the total thickness. I guess I did it wrong? Or is it the black stuff on the friction disc that should be 2.5mm?

Is there any possibilty to know how much wear they may have?
