Superhawk cb77 speedometer needle removal

Post by GG » Sat Apr 25, 2026 12:40 pm

Hello all - my speedometer gradually went crazy, and recently max's out and screeches. Removal of the bezel was not easy, but I managed it. I need to get into the mechanism - the spring does not zero out the needle - something sticking. And the mechanism seems "sticky" also.

Question - how to the needles come off? I've pried gently with no success. I DON'T want to wreck anything (!) Advice is much appreciated.

Also, can the spring be "adjusted" for more tension? It all looks quite sensitive.

Thanks
Bill
