1965 Honda 305 Dream Touring White Paint

Post by jrusk1957 » Wed Dec 24, 2025 9:43 pm

Hello. I am new to the forum but just bought a 1965 Honda Dream. It is white in color, and I was wondering if anyone had a paint code or paint type for that year? I need to touch up a few areas.

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem and solved it by going to a store that sells body shop supplies, including paint. They were able to match a colour very well and fill spray cans with the necessary paint. It was expensive so I built the film with two coats of off the shelf grey primer and two of colour. There was a choice of formula: one for clearcoating and one for not. I chose the latter simply because Honda didn't use clear coat but I would choose the clear coat if I were to do it again simply because a can of clear coat is less expensive and it does give better UV protection.

I used a clear coat on my tank but made sure it was fuel resistant. Nothing worse than a few drips of fuel on the top of the tank taking the top coat off exposing the primer. Also helps stop the paint pickling up around the filler cap.
