Restoration Help

Post by SpringCreekRider » Wed Mar 07, 2012 4:54 pm

Brand new here and I have purchased from the Original owner a CB77 Super Hawk in need of some attention. Is there someone here on the forum that I could ship my engine to inspect and refurbish ? Any suggestions would be appreciated
I have learned in other restoration projects that if you don't know how to work on them don't even start lol. The kick shaft is bent and the side case does have a crack in it that I can see. Thanks in advance

There's a few of us with the parts and experience and some of the guys here have more than others.

I have only rebuilt a dozen or so motors (maybe a few more) over the years from the first in the late sixties to the last, a month or so ago. Probably 5 or 6 straight rebuilds and the rest were race conversions. The first bike I restored for a customer was a CB77 back in 1973/4.

Ed (LoudMouse) must have done a whole lot more than that plus I think he has lots of parts or knows where to get them from and has been messing with these things more or less exclusively I think.

I'd start there and see if he has the time and or interest. If he can't fit you in, I'll be happy to strip it clean it, and rebuild it and send it back ready to purr for another 40 years
