Mint condition CB-77 speedometers are very costly. I have a superfluous speedometer that is probably reparable by someone with the skills and time to do the work. The glass is cracked, and some weather has intruded, but not very much.
When I insert a small screwdriver where the speedometer cable goes, then twist the screwdriver, the needle advances a little. The place where the tach cable goes is a tad cruddy, so I cannot do the same experiment on the left.
This is the pre-1965 style, with tach rising clockwise and speed rising counterclockwise.
In the past, I did replace the glass on another speedometer, so I know the drill, and it looks as if somebody set out to remove the cracked glass but quit early. So when I say it looks reparable, I am confident that at least a good speedometer will result from enough work; the tach is less certain, but I reckon nothing is badly busted inside.
$cheap ... realcheap
