Mufflers?

If you want something that looks original, you will most likely have to pay for them.

If you can stand just getting "close" to original, then many have used these Thai supplied models:

Around $160-$170 a set including shipping, and there are 3 or 4 vendors on ebay, who sell them.

Or, if you don't care about looking close to original, there are several universal types that you could use for even less.

There's a few threads about mufflers already, but I vote for Emgo Dunstall Universals. ~$150 for the pair and I think they look and sound great.

They came on the bike when I found it. Don't know the brand.

They look pretty nice on the bike. What is the metal thickness, plating, bracket quality like? Will they last, do you think?

ME TOO! These sound really good and "deep". I put the EMGO 80-84034 mufflers on mine. I bought them on Ebay for about $125 with shipping for the pair. You have to make sure you get the rear bolted on good so they don't move. The front clamps are tight but leak a tiny tiny bit. I am thinking of making a thin shim to close up that tiny bit. But this is probably not really necessary.

The quality is best described as "10 footer". The plating is ok, and they have lasted for 5 years and about 5,000 miles so far, mostly numerous short trips, and still look in new condition, and the brackets are holding up fine.

The metal prep work, prior to plating, is marginal, with some scratches and dings showing through, and the mounting bracket on one was a little off. The rear outlet appears to have been cut with a tubing cutter, rather than a saw. I had to cut slits in the inlet end and add clamps to seal them up.

That said, I do like the shape as they more closely mimic the original shape than other alternatives, and the sound is very close to stock after slightly opening up the welded in baffles.

I have a video with their sound in operation somewhere if anyone is interested.
