Won't work, the SL90 and winker type CB switch is wider than the non winker CB switch.G-Man wrote:It's easy. You just combine a CB77 bottom half with the SL90 top half......

Hi Gordon,mcconnellfrance wrote:
Hi Dick,
What part is the unit on the left? It has the starter button hole. Have you modified it?
Regards,
Gordon
The part on the left is an SL90 top and a lower winker type CB77. I needed a CL winker switch for a CL72 and by accident found the SL90 bottom w/o the starter hole turned my CB switch into a CL. I will at some point make what you saw in the picture into a winker switch for my CB77 as I too would like to put winkers on it. I'll pull the lower part (SL90) from my CL and see if the casting can be modified to accept the starter button if you were to drill the hole for the button. I'll keep you informed.

Another twist to this thread. On looking at CMSLs listing for the SL90, I see that the left switch has two sliders and a horn button. I wondering if anybody has tried this as a solution on the CB77 for the winner switch?

That's the same as I posted earlier. However, G-Man posted the one before that that looks the part. See his link:

That left switch is probably the easiest, as it would match the right side. I pulled the bottom of RH SL switch and compared to the RH CB bottom. The problem here is the SL the wiring is external. The hole in the SL for the external wiring takes out the tapped hole for the clip that holds the starter button and would need to be welded closed, drilled and tapped. The squared notch in the CB unfortunately was cut before I got this. I plan on welding a piece back in. Next problem is the switch itself, it's closed in the center position and open in the other positions, only has two wires and you need three. Pretty sure you could use parts from a Hi/Lo dimmer switch and make this work.
Attached pics, CB is the one with square notch on the left.
