I have an extra speedometer from a Honda Dream CA160... I want to take this apart to clean and restore it. I have no idea how the chrome bezel is removed. Here is a picture of what I have:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Speedometer Restoration - How to remove bezel?
Do a search for speedo restoration and all will be revealed. Essentially you prize it up very carefully and slowly with a flat screwdriver. The emphasis is on slow and patient.

Got it!
Thanks for the advice... I used a modified paint can opener to do the job. Worked like a charm:

When I was done I used clear silicone to seal the outer trim ring to the glass. There was some ancient white chalky crap on there that just disintegrated when I opened up the case.jderosa3 wrote:G-Man,
Thanks for the info. I will do some other research. Got nothing but time in my basement during these winter months ahead... I'll post some pics when I am done. Do you have any general links you visit or is this a common procedure? Why type of glue is used to hold that bezel on?
All the best.
