England itself is about the size of TX; Ireland, a beautiful country in which to ride, ride, ride, is pretty much on a par with many US states, size-wise; Majorca -- where I live for 4-5 months of the year -- about the same size as an English county, but riding is always an adventure (not necessarily in a good way!) trying to stay from under the wheels of the weapons piloted by the indigenous twats behind the wheel!!
EDIT: one fifth the size of TX with double the population; I just did a lookup! Google Maps' atlas is visually misleading....
Repairing CB72/77 Points Backplate
The Joys of Being in the UK:-
1. Petrol at £1.18 a litre .. so say @ $8.00 a UK gallon.
2. Being able to experience all four seasons on the same ride as the weather changes so quickly.
3. Having to pay Road Tax ( which isn't spent on the roads ) for every vehicle you want to use rather than for a plate you can switch between vehicles.
4. Having to declare a vehicle is NOT taxed ( SORN = Statuary Off Road Notice ) and NOT on the road; you get fined if you forget.
5. Speed Cameras everywhere .. but we're now so short of money they can't afford to use them all.
and on a more positive note:-
6. Nowhere is very far away.
7. There are lots of twist bits without cameras.
8. Our notes are different sizes and colours.
G-Man .. I'm just north of Brighton so the Brighton Burn Up/ACE Cafe Run and Goodwood Festival
of Speed are on my doorstep.
Still like visiting the US though .. don't thint think I could have flown in a B-25, B-17 and P-51 in the UK .. and one day I'll get to see proper flat trackers in action ( On Any Sunday has a lot to answer for .. )

Hi Steve
Unfortunately not .. I'm an immigrant to this neck of the woods, moved down from Liverpool in '92 when changed jobs.
Never really got into Speedway ( there is/was a track at Ellsmere Port ) but those clips of Lawmill, Rayborn, Mann and co throwing things sideways in the film really caught my imagination.
I know there is short track racing in the UK but its mostly converted MXers not big dinosaurs.
Saw the Honda V-twin and TZ750 flat trackers last time I went to the AMA museum but like everything its better to see them moving.
