My understanding is that shorter skirts require narrower rings to be able to maintain effective sealing. Also there are opinions that smaller contact area of the skirt creates greater pressures which can negate any theoretical friction reduction. All the best Jerry

I had a set of pistons like this in a REID TITAN 350 kit that I fitted many years ago. I was lead to believe they were NORTON JUBILEE pistons of about 64mm diameter. They didn't last that long as they both came apart in a big way at 2 separate race meetings. I remember recovering half the head of one of them as the biggest part I could find. I don't think they liked the high revs of racing very much. Still got the bits somewhere in my collection of useless items box.
