wow what a bummer... anyone know where i can score one of those? I found a more modern petcock on ebay, but id rather get this one going...

Or maybe i can just reattach it? Not exactly sure the function and importance of that part?

Watch Ebay for one.You could try Western Hills Honda or Ohio Cycle to see if they have one.Also, I believe the function is to put pressure on the unit when you tighten it up on the tank to prevent leaking.Maybe someone on here can part with one.Sorry, but I want to keep mine for a spare.

no worries, i talked to someone who suggested just using a bit of some jbweld and that should do the trick!
