Loud Mouse, this is for you, since you resemble my remarks. I got a little extra practice with the axle after finding out you can't get the top half of the chain guard on after the wheel is in place...

But the Firestones look pretty decent, I gotta say...

There is an annual 10 day music festival here and folks come from all over. Today I saw a feller riding a black DREAM and stopped and talked a while. First off he told me the bike was a 68 (that was the year he bought it new at the dealer) and I looked at the vin and he now knows he bought a 66 issue DREAM in 68. The bike was the most original DREAM I've seen except for the FIRESTONE white wall tires. He (without my asking) told me they looked OK but the tread made it ride squirrelly. I think he will visit my place soon. ................lm

Well, I'm the second owner of this bike -- the first was a stewardess in Minneapolis who bought it new, used it for a few years, and left in in her garage. It's completely unmolested and in great running shape.

By the way, I'm 33 and when I went in to the auto parts store to buy a battery, the "kid" who sold it to me asked what a 305 Dream was. I showed him a picture I had on my phone and his reaction was "oh, it's a grandpa bike..." ;-)

Oh, and the Firestones came free with the bike, and free is just about what I could afford right about now.
