Big Bore Head Gasket UK

Post by GordonC » Mon Oct 27, 2025 6:20 am

I am new here and I have recently obtained a CB72 which had been lying unused in a garage for many years. After dismantling the top end I found it has a big-bore conversion which I believe is from Read-Titan. The bores are 64mm but I need a compatible cylinder head gasket for the rebuild. Can anyone suggest where I might obtain one, in the UK preferably? I am thinking I will need to either make one or get one made out of copper but I would appreciate hearing if anyone else has managed to find another solution.

Cool project, are you sure it's 64mm? That's like the S12 305 piston size. Bill Silver in the US just had several sets for sale.

What do you mean by S12? I've never heard of it.
