Hi! I'm a recent member and looking for some advice. I'm looking for a short term project bike that i can ride this summer after some TLC and elbow grease. I came across someone selling a 1965 CB77 Super Hawk 305 and am willing to put the money in. they are selling for 500 and only minor problems (rust, dirty gas tank...) but was wondering if its worth the buy with the major issue that it may need the motor rebuilt/overhauled (owner is not sure)...and that theres no title.
I've decided that this is the bike i want but don't wanna take on a maintenance job i cant handle or that's gonna be impossible or too pricey considering the amount for the bike. i'm kinda new at this and would appreciate any advice anyone can offer!
Thanks!
Worth it to buy...??Kind of a loaded question, however for 500 dollars you really can't go wrong.
First thing to do is make sure the bike is complete, you can post a pic of it here and the experts will tell you what's missing or you can find a pic of one restored online and compare it with the one you want to buy. The reason I say this is because some parts are a little hard to find and that means you may not be riding it this summer. On the other hand , If it looks like it may run and the motor is not stuck then you may just be able to do a tune up replace the tires install the battery and go. The title may take a few months to square away depending on your state requirements. Just things to keep in mind........... Long term that bike is a really good investment,do yourself a favor and check e-bay. You may be surprised. Ron Ron Cribbs
