Well, in attempting to remove the oil filler cap, I broke the part you're supposed to hang on to. I applied heat first, then soaked it with PB after it cooled, but it was not enough. So I'm looking for ideas on how to get it out. (It goes without saying that it's junk now, I just need it out so I can put a new one in. Oh, and some oil too...)
The only thing I can think of right now is to cut a slot in the top with my Dremel, then use a large straight-bladed screwdriver to remove it. Assuming that's enough to break the threads loose. This is the first substantial threaded part I've had problems with (I did break one of the battery hold-down bolts, but that's a frame part and thus not so critical).
Any other ideas? Am I way off base here?
