starter question
I have the engine in and wired. I push the starter button and hear the click but no starter turning. Does the clutch have to be engaged for the starter to turn?

Re: starter question
No.
If ya have a volt meter ya can check for 12 volts at the solenoid.
1 Check the Right side cable at the solenoid.
2 With the key on and the Start Button depressed check for 12 volts at the Left side.
If ya have voltage at the Right side and not at the left ya have either a bad solenoid or the Start Button circuit isn't correct. (ya did say ya hear a click so I assume the Start Circuit is OK)
If ya 12 volts at both sides of the solenoid I'd say the problem is at the starter. ............lm
