Thanks, guys. After taking your advice, I was able to disassemble the cams and SAM without much drama. The key was when I saw how the bearings would sit flush and firmly against the bores with only hand pressure at the start. Because they stayed put, I was able to tap the cams through quite easily.
And your words about being able to wiggle them were spot-on, LM.
I have another question about the impending valve job, but I'll post that under a different thread.
