Rev. counter for a CL77
Rev. counter for a CL77
My CL77 doesn't have a rev. counter fitted, nor can I see where the drive comes off the engine. Did this model have one fitted from the factory?
Would it be possible to fit parts from a CB77 to incorporate a rev. counter to my bike? If so, what parts would I need?
Thanks for any help.
Re: Rev. counter for a CL77
dean: the cl77 was not set up for tach drive. the cb and ca had tach drive off the camshaft. if you want to have this you must change the camshaft and outer cover ,with cable drive in it. i am doing this myself as i am building a cl77 rider and want to put a cb speedo tach .
don
Re: Rev. counter for a CL77
Don,
Thanks for the info. In the mean time in order to participate in my first race I fitted an electric rev. counter I bought at the Netley Marsh bike jumble in September for five pounds. Only problem is that it half reads as my bike has twin coils and I don't know how to wire it up to read both coils.
Dean - Bilbao,Spain

Re: Rev. counter for a CL77
May I ask for the gear-ratio for a mechanical rev. counter on a CB77E, 305, 1964.

This means a mechanic Rev. counter driven by wire from the camshaft. Is it 1:2 or 1:4

Regards /Kuno
