RPM CHECK ON MY 305

Post by FLYHAVEN2001 » Sat Jul 30, 2005 6:48 am

Do I need a special Tach. designed for a 2 cyl. bike engine to check my idle speed? I was trying to use an old engine analyzier and it has settings for 8 cyl. and 4 cyl. and so I'm not sure if I'm getting the proper readings. I am just kind of adjusting by ear now and have it running pretty well. thanks

Hay Fly I have been asking myself that same question! Why not set it for a 4 cyl. and divide the readings by half or would it be X2?
Old bikes like old men, sometimes you have to kick start them

I'm not sure either? Someone on here should know. Till I find out I'll just run it where it is since it runs so good.
