Hi all,

I have not owned a motorcycle since 1971 and am looking at a very nice '73 350 Scrambler to purchase. The bike is all original, looks great, everything works, and no leaks. The only minus seems to be a small whole in a muffler. The owner is asking $2,800 but we haven't done any negotiating yet. Is this a good price point for this bike? What can I expect the value of this model to be in the next 5 years?

Thanks for any opinions. I am still having an inner struggle about whether I need to buy a bike but a good deal will push me over.

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds high to me, but it all depends on how much you want that particular model, and how good the condition.

Here's one published opinion:

Good luck on your search.

That seems really high. The Dragon Tattoo movie really pushed scrambler prices up the last couple months.

I would want it to be near perfect for that.

Here is my 73 CB350, which I paid less than $500 for, as a guide. I think it was worth 1,000-1,500.

I am not saying its not the right purchase, but I dont think anyone would say it was a bargain.

Nice bike. Does it idle well when warm? :-)

Very funny!

Yes, it's fantastic.

I got it in pieces and assembled it myself - big learning experience.

This is Mr. Reliable, and the reason why I get so frustrated with the 305.

But its just nowhere near as cool a bike.

2800.00 ? it should be in mint condition for that price imo. you should be able to get a nice clean runner in great shape for 1300-1800.00 in the illinois, indiana, michigan area.
