New guy, 1966 Honda 160
New guy, 1966 Honda 160I inherited the family 1966 Honda 160, it was always referred to as a scrambler, but I'm not certain that designation is correct. I see online references to CB, CA, and CL Honda 160's.
High pipes on left side, skid plate under engine, handle bar has a cross bar on it, black/silver with chrome tank and black knee bumpers, chrome rear rack, fenders and side covers are silver paint, serial number starts with B1601049*** I've had it parked for the last 10 years, before that I rode it occaisionally for a few years, and before that it was parked for at least 10 years. Question: Is this properly a Scrambler, or something else? Photo to come later. Thanks for putting the new guy on the right track.
ScramblerSure sounds like a CL160 Scrambler... your bike has the high pipes, skid plate and braced handlebars. ....yep you have a scrambler. Friend of mine had one in 66 when I had my red S90..how I lusted for the 160 scrambler..great bike. welcome to the forum. Tim
Re: ScramblerWould the Scrambler serial number begin with an L instead of the B that I have? 160 ScramblerRock, near as I can tell, the 160s had a common frame. I think you could put CL parts on a CB and vice-a- versa. The serial No# should start with CB or CL. Honda did make a CL160D in 67-68 that had numbers starting with CB. How bout a picture?......................................D
