Saturday I removed the seat to get a better look at the underside of the upholstry and to get better access to the rectifier that I want to replace. When the seat came off it revealed light surface rust all along the top edges of the frame.

This diverted my attention away from the upholstry and rectifier since I want to keep this machine for a very long time, thus rust cannot be tolerated! 15 minutes into attacking the rust with sandpaper I decided that the tank and tool kit were in the way, and 15 minutes later I decided I needed to remove the rear tire and shocks and rear rack and rear fender, and swingarm, and.... well now I've done it. She's almost completely disassembled into component parts.

All that's left assembled is the front forks, the engine/transmission, and the wheels.

Next I'll be learning to zinc plate and bead blast.

But I still need a CB160 chain guard and right side cover...
