The first 'bike' I had as a young-un in 1962 was an old Brockhouse Corgi, I don't remember the year but they were made from the late 40s to the early 50s.
Now one or two years later I found a beat-up 1953 MK4 & for pure 'nostalga' I bought it & renovated it, they never came with the little side-box, but I found various old adverts showing them so I made one 'just to be different'!

VERY NICE!! Looks like the original seat was more of a "Saddle" like a SOLO seat on a Harley Davidson?

Nice job on the "Box" too!!

That is really neat modelman. I have never seen one before. Why is it built so low? Is it a fold up bike?

It was derived from the wartime 'Wellbike' these were designed to fit in a 13" dia tube which was then slung under aircraft wings to be dropped by parachute for troops, they were & still are, crap!!
After the war, there was a shortage of many commodities & Brockhouse noticed a gap it the market for civilian transport, so they 'modified' the Welbike & it became the Corgi, at the time, Brockhouse owned the US Indian brand, so it was exported there as the 'Indian Papoose'.

And, yes, the seat lowers right down as do the handlebars each side of the tank.

They're still bloody crap however!!

It does look a little like a Corgi.

That is a beautiful corgi, much nicer than mine, but can you get it into a 13" tube & drop it from an airplane!!
