Neighbor brought his son's '76 Elsinore over and said the carb stuck wide open and it kept running after he hit the kill switch....so he hopped off and ran!!
Took the carb apart and found the needle stayed in the body after the slide was removed, and the needle circlip was mangled and laying loose on top of the hold down plate?????
Needle fell right out when I inverted the carb body.
Also, the plastic slide guide was worn down almost flush with the carb body...probably what caused the sticking throttle.
Anybody ever replaced a plastic slide guide?
