I'm done my Superhawk and I'm thinking my next project is going to be a CB750..looking at an early one, a 1970...anybody else here have one? Wondering about certain years, issues, if there a site as good as this one to check them out. Thanks, John.

John, good choice! Only one of the top three 'best-looking' (IMHO) Hondas ever designed (see pics -- you don't need to ask what the missing model is!).

You could drop Jan Tveten -- member 'jadahonda', in Norway -- an email; he has/had a CB750K0 Sandcast that he's been restoring (among others -- see his forum signature http://www.honda305.com/forums/search.p ... =jadahonda) and wouldn't mind, I'm sure, imparting info on any pitfalls.

There's a forum or two out there as well http://www.sohc4.net/ / http://www.sohc.co.uk/

Good luck in your search!

Hi,

I can't look in your wallet, but CB750 K0 is expensive if you can find one, I sold a lot of parts for a K0 last few years, and these didn't go away for change money either, so expensive parts.

I choose a CB400F instead of a CB750, but that was by coincident, but I was looking for a K2, of course in candy gold. In the USA a K1 is a good option, but K1 / K6 are nice overall. K7 is a different machine, and has lost a lot of charm and style of the early K's.

I have the last year K model (1978) and have been riding it for the last 14 years.
My favorite bike of all time. Fast, dependable and comfortable.
If you are looking for collector value, the K0 is the one, but if you just want a good rider that gets plenty of attention, the year doesn't matter.
The 77, 78 models had different exhaust style for the 4/4 pipes and a fatter gas tank.
Parts are readily available, except original exhaust are hard to find.
You can find a decent rider at a reasonable price, but have to pay for nice original
Mine with 41,000 miles:

Yeah, for me sandcast is out...too much$$$ But I like the first few years the best..(K1,K2 maybe) There's a pretty decent 1970 here in Toronto right now. Hardly any rust, extra tank without a dent, original exhaust (he has 2 new correct Honda pipes HM300's to change out for 2 rusted through ones), but needs carb work so I can't hear it run, kicks over with compression. He wants 3,000 CDN with the extra goodies. Seem reasonable?

Woohoooo! For one of that era, complete and with goodies, I'd say grab & run with it! That's about GB£1800, which doesn't seem dear, to me. Bid him in the bollocks and see if he winces; he can only say no. Shame about that bloody awful handlebar, though!

I spend €uros here, but have no idea of the value of a K1 in Spain. I got asked by a Spanish scooter rider today, at a traffic light, if CB was for sale (errrr, no, sorry!) but he said he has a '73 CB750K1; I wish I'd taken his mobile number, now -- just for a look.
