See the attached picture. I'm trying to buy #22 (listed as: 667979-9 BOLT, HEX. (10X36)).
I went to Home Depot and got metric 10 1.0 40mm bolts and they were way too hard to get in. I do not want to have to fish out any more broken bolts than I have to lol. I've done this with a Kawasaki before with no issues, what gives?

You made a mistake trying to force a 1.00 fine pitch thread in that hole. The bolt that goes there is a 1.25 pitch.

All the hardware on that bike is 1.25
