Thanks DJM,

Naarfk is my attempt at humor, it is the phonetic spelling for Norfolk....or that's how it is pronounced (a lovely dialect by the way).

Anyhow, this front wheel..can you tell me more ? What is it about it that makes it non CB77?

More on the resto in that I decided to start on the engine, so the first thing was to make some plates to mount it onto a mobile stand and so I could then tilt it through 360 degrees. (see pic)

The oil was drained and the filter cleaned - only a small amount of crud - but I had fun getting the oil filter cover off, breaking 3 screwdriver bits with the impact driver. And I was being gentle...! Yes they were not impact bits, but I thought it should work.
Maybe this engine had not been apart for a very long time, or not at all.

You need JIS bits/screwdrivers.

The front wheel looks like it is from another bike. The CB72 / 77 has a bolted torque stay and the speedo drive is on the right hand side. The wheel you have has pressed brake arms whereas the CB72 are forged steel.

My guess for your wheel would be Suzuki Super 6 or similar, judging by the speedo drive, brake linkages and the slotted lug for torque reaction.

Thanks G-Man

I have been looking at my front wheel, here beside me, and noting that it agrees with what you said.... on checking the photo, which was the one on the advert, the wheels are different. The one in the picture is not the wheel that I received. So that is a good thing, in that I have the correct wheel.

Hurrah!

I like that bracket that you used to attach the motor to the engine stand. I need to rig up one of those.
