1966 CA72
Small photo dump first. Should've taken more pictures in between times but we always say that!

I've been doing a lot of repairs this summer for friends and someone contacted me interested in a CB350 that I had for sale. The customer hadn't had the time and/or money for me to replace his clutch mechanism and asked me if I wanted the bike. Hell yeah.
So, I posted it on Craigslist and someone contacted me asking if I was interested in trades and they had this 1966 CA72 that had recently been titled and was in overall alright condition.
I straight up traded and don't regret it for a second.
The first thing I did was try to tune her up, new plugs, change fluids, etc and get her to fire over. Unfortunately the left exhaust had nothing coming out of it, so after a compression check I found 30psi in one cylinder then 90 in the other. Rebuild time.
A leakdown test confirmed it was the rings.
Since i had the engine all apart I decided to do all the fun stuff next.
Strip it down, weld some breaks in the rear fender and shine some aluminum, etc.
Thankfully it came with brand new tires, a new speedometer (worth a pretty penny on Ebay for sure), new brake pads, original manual and a clean title.
Here's just a few basic shots of the process, wanted to share with everyone since I've gotten a lot of advice and help from this board. Especially from Loud Mouse.
Pistons and cylinders checked out alright, except there was a broken ring. I honed them, measured them, installed in rings and now the cylinders read at 170psi and about 160 in the other. I'll take it.
I swapped out the seat for a very nice solo brown leather and got some Emgo Dunstalls since the old pipes were in bad shape. I do have one pipe (that's useable and pretty if anyone wants it) and an original seat as well. No need for them now.
I've always been drawn to Seafoam Green Harleys, I thought some brown and sea foam accents would work well for this bike. I put some clubman's on because I'm 6'4'' and the sweptback original bars didn't leave much room for my knees.
Basically now I'm waiting for finishing touches like handle grips, foot peg rubbers and a speedo cable and she'll be all done! It's fun to ride it to work, she gets a lot of attention.
