Looking for help with this cool bike. Not sure how far I want to go with a resto. Perhaps a good clean up, tune motor after leakdown / compression test , breaks, wheels, steeringhead ,swingarm bearings prep etc. I would like to get tank badges back on for some strange reason. I think there is bondo over the emblem area. I bought the bike from the second owner who had the bike since 73. To be continued.
What ya think.

Thanks HT !Hoosier Tom wrote:By physical appearance, since I don't know what your frame and engine numbers are, it looks like you have the early small hub CL77 which came out in 1965. The tank, side covers and both fenders would be silver. The frame and rest of the painted parts would be either black, red, or blue.

The title reads,Honda 66 cycle VIN #CL 771005702.
What does that tell you ? Could the early 66 bikes have the smaller hubs ? and where are the motor #'s on the cases ?
The frame is Black and has minor rust in some arera's.The prior spray bomb paint covered the what appears to be a blue /turquois color.

Check white tag on wiring loom under tank. It carries the date of manufacture of the wiring harness.
Engine number is on top left of crankcase. Just beneath the twin pipes.
Despite the nasty paint job and mods to the gas tank that bike is in really nice shape.
