My plater is n longer doing cadnium! I sent nuts bolts sprocket etc to a local plater and was quoted $1200.
Any suggestions for a plater? I am happy to ship wherever.
Thanks, Davo

Cad.............
Those items should be white zinc...............cad is for the coil holder and can be replicated by using yellow zinc over white zinc.
Re: Cad.............
None of the origiinal Honda stuff was cadmiun plated. Always zinc. White or yellow passivated.
Cadmium is regarded as highly toxic here in the UK. Surprising that you could get it done at all in California. https://www.osha.gov/SLTC/cadmium/

Re: Cadnium plating
Davo,
G is correct about the fact that old Honda stuff was zinc but I highly recommend Ramos Plating Co. 405-232-4300 in Oklahoma City for cadmium or zinc plating. They have been in business for 50+years and I have been using them for at least 25 years. Reasonable price and 2 to 3 day turnaround. They have done 1000s of Honda parts in zinc and many in cad for old Schwinn bicycles over the years for me and have never lost anything!
Tell Dan Ramos I referred you.
All the best,
Tim

Hello G-man!!!
Retired from work last December, and spending lots of time at the shop!!
Currently restoring 2 1968 Honda Z50 slant guards, one for me and one for a client !!
Been doing a lot of mountain biking, and riding dirt bikes a bit.
I bought and completely restored a 1969 Norton Commando 750 a couple years ago and still fighting that right side shift 😁
Took my cafe CB77 to the next level earlier this year, Bore Tech 64mm pistons, Harmon Collins roller rockers and cams, ported and polished head, Sachs crank mounted electronic ignition, Capellini high volume oil pump, oil filter, and oil filter cover for oil cooler.
Pair of 32mm flat slide carbs from Honda CRF150R. Complete RD350 disc brake front end, drilled and thinned rotor with a Brembo 4 piston caliper. The thing will actually wheelie!!
Took it on the Moto Melee in June, 1000 miles in 3 days and it ran excellent the entire time!!
I’ll have to post some pics of bike and engine build!!
How are things with you? Looks like you’re still quite active on the forum!!
