hopefully the pictures will help explain my dilemma.
the bike is a 65 ca77 with a cb77e engine.
before i tore it down everything worked and now that i'm putting everything back together i just want to make sure everything is all right.
one problem i'd like to figure out is why the left coil warms up and gets hot when the ignition switch is in the on position while the right side has no heat to touch.
now in the pictures you can see the previous owner added a new condenser and attached it to the outer shell of the right coil. the original is sill there and the wires go into it. on the new condenser the black wire goes to the positive terminal on the right coil. and on the original condenser the wire is taped up and not connected to anything.
so if you can take a look at the pics and let me know what you see.
one other note, the ground for the bike is set up from the top left engine mount to the battery while i read hat on the cb77 it should go to the coil bracket. i have an extra ground cable i could connect to the coil bracket if needed.
and before you say it i'm going to redo all the wires and get rid of the masking tape
Help figureing out coil wiring. ca77/cb77 hybrid bikeproblems solved
