CL77 Sealed Beam Headlight Alternative

Post by 180degree » Thu Oct 19, 2017 9:21 pm

Searching around I came across a Honda part number 33120-292-673 7" sealed beam headlight that I'm wonder whether or not it could be made to work with the CL77 headlight bucket that uses the spring clips. Has anyone considered this headlight before or have any input regarding this as an alternative to the expensive/scarce original headlight?

I saw this post got a lot of views but no responses so I'm guessing nobody tried this headlight before. Can anyone think of a reason why this headlight might not work? I'm thinking about buying one of these and giving it a try.

Don't know if this would fit or not but the CB77 headlight unit isn't actually 7" is it?

I don't think the CB400 one is either. It was certainly a tight fit when I put a Hella H4 unit in my CB400 headlamp rim........

The CB72/77 headlamps are 162mm (6-3/8"). Regards, Chase

Chase

Thanks - I'll measure a spare CB400F one when I get a chance.

Thanks guys for all the information, I was thinking the original CL77 headlight was 7", since it's smaller I'm guessing the headlight that I found most likely won't work.
