Narly, go here and Google Search <charging improvements>.

All is on this site, waiting to be found. I'm not typing it all in again☻ ........

Thanks guys. =-)

I have it installed and it's increasing voltage when the motor is revved. But only by +.20 Volts. It seems to maintain the system at 12.20v to 12.40v. I've noted the Hi low beam selector in the inbetween position turns off the headlight. However I'm seeing no extra voltageif headlight on or off on the ign switch or on with hi low in middle position with igniton switch on light position. SO I suspect a bad wire/connection or coil in the ac stator. Was kind of a silly question about the AC connetions considering AC is Alternating current and rather it's pulsing form one side or the other shouldn't make any timeing/voltage diffrence. HA,, lol Why couldn't someone say that?

Live & learn, matey. Live & learn.....

Most of us have more tolerance than to say "it doesn't (really) matter which way round you squirt AC, ya dipstick"! We each have our skill sets; those we don't have need a little guidance from others.

Disconnect your stator from the harness and check it with an Ohmmeter or a DMM (digital multimeter) on the resistance (Ohms) range. There should be no continuity to ground (open line / open circuit) from any conductor; pink to yellow, pink to brown and yellow to brown ought to produce a reading of between 1 & 4 Ohms. Use the previous 'search' link that I posted and look for <testing a stator> or similar. One of my earlier topics is entitled <let's test a rectifier>, so the readings might be therewith.

Let us know.....

LOL, Yeah I've read that and tested it before. Another oddity I guess. I think I will hook it up to some 440 current and see if it puts out some better AC. :-) JUST KIdding! I'll fix it! I got just the golden hammer! 8-) So if I cover it in duck greese and wrap it in duct tape will it work better?

My version: heat sink is a square of Aluminum with the corners bent and drilled so it mounts in the original spot. This provides 2 points of ground, a tad more cooling, and easy access. Rectifier is mounted upside down. If I need more cooling, I can easily add a small fan to the top.

Hmmmmmmm.....looks suspiciously similar to those little reflector mounts the state puts on the side of the road so you can see in the dark....they do come in handy!

Make excellent kickstand pads also.......at least I've heard that!
