volts?

Post by chriso » Fri Dec 31, 2004 11:01 pm

Hi,
Checked the key switch, it works, as do all the other components. This leaves the coils or the magnets. What voltage should I be getting off the stator coils? I'm getting a good 6 volts from each pair.

cheers,
chriso

It is because I am using the starter motor, and not the kick start. This meand that the magnets were not spinning fast enough to produce the correct voltage. Sadly, still no spark...

The battery is OK, I cannot find the proper one, but I came close. 12V at 7AH. I have not gotten power to the coil yet. I'm checking the switch, and the wires tomorrow. This is getting annoying. Good thing I drive a Russian bike too, great for teaching patience.

chriso

I understand ya have to have ALOT of patience w/ Russian bikes ! LoL
If your getting power coming out of the generator but not getting to the primary of the coil then something is not right in the points/condensor It doesnt seem as though its making a complete circuit.

georGe
