Where's my taillight?

Here's the situation: I have a six position combination switch and I only have my taillight lit on twilight.. My switch runs;
1-Starter only
2-Off
3-Ignition
4-Twilight
5-Headlight
6-Parking light
Brakelight works on 3,4, and 5.
I think the taillight should be working on 5 also. Should I be looking into my combo switch?

It sounds like the switch but worth pulling up a wiring diagram and testing with test light or multimeter before open ignition surgery. Many small components in there that drop out or go back together wrong. The brass contacts for example. Not insurmountable but care is needed. A photo when removing might help get things right. Dont loose any of the small springs or ball bearings!
