How to run a CB77 without a battery?

Hey mate, do you have any info on how you wired up your capacitor? I am doing a battery delete and just going to run kick start. Im turning the build into a flat track. Thanks for any info you could lend!

The plus and minus terminals are connected to the original battery terminal wire ends, that's all there is to it. Best way to do it is to ditch the original rectifier and replace it with a modern single phase regulator/rectifier, that will take care of the excess voltage.

Thanks Mike for the info. The only wiring I received with the bike was the minimal wiring coming off the ignition coils and points area along with the short leads coming off the stator. No biggie, just starting from scratch pretty much. The wiring on the bike now is pretty shot. Thanks again.

They have two harnesses originally, an ignition harness(which you apparently have) and a main harness for the lights & horn. If you have the original key switch you can attach the rectifier output and the capacitor positive lead right to the hot terminal of that switch.

OK very cool, I do have another harness in the box of parts but no key. I could always order up a new switch set and wire it in. Thanks man

If you take that old switch to a locksmith and show him the number on it he may be able to make you a new one.

Ok so another question now :) Is it possible to go keyless? I need this thing "bare bones" think of XR80 style wiring bare bones..Kickstart only with a kill switch easy. I literally just need it to run haha. Any tips would be grand! Thanks again all. Slowly going back together. Waiting on motor parts and frame is coming back from paint this week!

I have coils, two condensers the points setup, etc.. and a butchered up rats nest harness that I really don't want to use. The only thing keeping me stumped is what to do with the wiring from the stator..Being that there will be no lights at all I mainly just need to wire up my ignition system.
