Ok, so I made a mistake. I bought these replacement levers on ebay for my 1965 CA77 Dream with the early handlebars:

Unfortunately, the stock mirror stems are 8mm x 1.25 fine pitch and the ebay lever perches are 10mm x 1.25. Are there other options besides taking all this stuff back off and replacing it? I'm assuming that some mirrors are 10mm. Does anyone know of a place that sells a set that looks close to stock but in 10mm?

A 8mmx1.25 helicoil will thread right into the hole on that perch, and allow you to use your mirrors.

So a Heli-coil sold as an "8mm x 1.25" would have an outside dimension of 10mm x 1.25?
If so, I'll just buy the inserts. Otherwise, I'll need the entire thread repair kit with the bit and tap included.
