I pulled this image from ebay several years ago. Kind of like the red Bomber, heard they were made, but never have seen one.

I've got the same picture I saved many years ago too. The guy RRbyrne (not sure of spelling) that makes the repop's didn't recognize them, and he seemingly knows the badges very well. I had relly questioned if these were the correct ones for my CA77, but he told me "305" badges didn't exsist...........till I sent that pic.

Still a mystery..........

cb77e tank badges

Post by schutz600 » Sat Nov 15, 2014 12:22 pm

Hi i am a newbie to the forum, just to say i am getting on in years and remember the 305 superhawk very well, my first honda was a new 1963 125 dream could not afford a 305 superhawk ( in the UK we used to call them the sport) any way the badge on the british bikes was as shown in picture.
I have just bought a 1966 305 superhawk to go with my cb350f (imported from America last year) will post some photos asap.

I'd say that if HONDA issued that badge WE WOULD SEE MORE THAN 2.
That said if they were as said a British issue then where are the others. ...........lm

305 tank badge

Post by schutz600 » Sat Nov 15, 2014 1:50 pm

Good day LOUD MOUSE i worked for my Father as an apprentice motor mechanic in 1968 and one of our customers owned a Honda 305 and i would envy his bike when he came in for gas and i remember his tank badges very well gold coloured and 305 under the honda logo! It might have been a dealer special i don't know because you did not see a lot of these bikes about? I would love a pair for my 305 because mine are white and black pressed metal ones.
Anyway i suppose it still leaves questions!

As you may be able to see I'm not a newbie and have seen and/or worked on more of these bikes than most folks.
Any idea why you would at this time recall a badge which showed 305 back when no one paid much attention other than DREAM 250, DREAM 300 then 250, 300?
I've never seen a true HONDA badge with 305 and I consider a fact that HONDA didn't make just a FEW of anything as it wasn't cost effective as a reason that HONDA didn't make any.
A better question may be- Why wasn't a HONDA badge which showed DREAM 247 issued.
The same reason the 305 as the 250 were issued as rounded CC displacement bikes like MOST all bikes were/are.even today.
Oh the desire for folks to have/ have seen that VERY SPECIAL, RARE PART/BIKE that HONDA never issued/made!. ................lm
