Cardboard gaskets.
My dad told me over fifty years ago about making gaskets out of brown paper or cardboard boxes, it's good to hear that these cheap fixes are still around. He also said about using cardboard for clutch friction plates but I wouldn't recommend that!

Did he tell you about putting neat holes in the gaskets using a lit cigarette?
Not an option for me but my Dad was always equipped.....

Gaskets,
Graham,
Not heard that one but I can see how it would work for our dads, not for me either though!
I think it goes in the filing system along with stuffing the tyres with grass in the event of a puncture, something else I wouldn't recommend but apparently something my dad had done, I suppose needs must, a long while before Green Flag or RAC Recovery.
