Interesting. Did you ever try a pressure gauge on there or are you just checking for adequate flow?

It seemed a good idea on the parade / race bikes as sometimes it is unused for a long time. We turn it over using a starting engine with the plugs out ( you could just use the starter on a road machine ).
The main thing is you don't need to take the tension of the main head / cyl. studs, not exactly restoration stuff but you hardly notice it.

Hello

Graham, I have only used it to check for flow, though it would be easy enough to fit a gauge.
Is there any pressure in these things ? That said trying to get the bolt back in before the engine gets covered takes some doing.

Yes - I see the problem... :-) Maybe you need a radiator bleed valve on there..

I'm told that the pressure at high revs with the engine warm will only be 5-6psi and so low that you cannot measure it at idle. Comforting to know that it gets to the valve gear though.

Oh no - I have nowhere near that kind of talent. That is the domain of my good friend Lee Hulteng. He did the 'roadrunner' on my chainguard, plus my gas tank, and the red coachlines on the rims that were on there previously. Plus he made my chainguard. So he is one talented fellow!
