Thanks guy, my Dad and I got out this morning and went to Oklahoma, met with my buddy and picked up that Super Hawk stuff. (frame, complete forks, wheels, rear shocks, coils, fenders (even though both had been bobbed some), centerstand, pipes, lights, cables, 4 extra tires, seat, 1 side cover, toolbox (no tools), swingarm, throttle, wiring harness, switch and misc. In fact, you might say that I got a Super Hawk in kit form (except for the gastank, kick starter and speedo/tach). Now, just because I have come into these "extra parts" doesn't mean that I'm not going to continue with the original intent of this build. Nothing could be further from the truth. As soon as I can get after it, I will be checking to see about the possibility of putting that 350 5sp trans into a set of Super Hawk cases. I am aching to get an engine together with the 5sp trans. and see just what else I can do to make this one a runner and yet distinctive. I hope that those who go all out to restore these fine machines will remember that I have the upmost respect for their efforts, but these that I am working on, have not been in good shape for quite sometime and are missing some pretty high dollar parts that would make it pretty hard for someone with my financial standing, to do a restoration. All things considered, I may just have enough to work towards building 2 separate bikes.davomoto wrote:Bill, great news about your dad! Like they say, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family! I'm jonesing to hear about that CB350 5 speed trans set-up. I've got an old timer friend out in West Marin who is the over 80 North American Motocross Champion. I think he must have beat the other guy? It's a combination USA and Canada deal. Love those old timers!
