This is the tire I have on the front of my CB77. Not DOT rated, but I haven't been able to have anyone explain why it shouldn't be used on the street. It doesn't have a severe crown profile like the racing tires for bigger bikes. Just looks like a normal tire. If a racing tire has been through a whole bunch of heat cycles from racing, then I'd be a little more concerned.

I think the main reasons are that race compound rubber usually wears much faster, and since it is designed to soften at higher temperatures it tends to pick up gravel from the road suface.
