Running rich??
Running rich??
My CA77 out on the road runs well but the plugs are black what do I need to do to the carb guys. Thanks.
start by dropping the needle one notch (raising the clip), if that doesn't do it, drop the main jet size.
Ideally you want to determine at what throttle opening it's running rich and jet accordingly. Low throttle opening: slide cutaway/ pilot jet; mid-range: needle; top-end: main jet.
Choke is Off when lever is down.
Overly restrictive mufflers/air cleaner can cause richness.

Do what you've always done and you'll get what you've always had.
