Help Identifying Year and Model

Post by squirehill305 » Sat Sep 10, 2016 5:17 pm

Looking for some help in identifying year and model of a Honda (dream I believe). The engine has the following numbers on it. CA77E 404408 (the 8 might be a 6). There is a 305 on the bottom front of the engine. A local dealer said it was a 1961 dream 305. Before I go ordering parts for the wrong bike, can anyone help??

Interesting. Are you sure you have the number correctl? There should also be a date on the wiring harness.

Can you check the frame number? It's down near the stand pivot on the left hand side. Looks like you might have a 1964 CA78.

How about some pictures.

Thank you for your response. The Engine Number CA77E 404408 with the frame number of CA78 400529 appears to be a 1964 type 2?

For some reason Honda had a 'step' of about 4000 numbers between engine and frame when they went to CA78. Looks like your engine and frame belong with eachother.

# ca77e315464 It doesn't fit onto the list but it would seem all 31# are 63's is that safe to assume?
