CA 77 Mirror Mount Threads?

The MIRROR threads on my '65 CA77 Dream 305 handlebar perch levers are stripped out on both sides. I want to use my original Honda mirrors which are 8mm. I thought I would get a Heli-Coil kit and repair my original perches. However, when I went to shop for a kit, I now see there are two thread sizes for 8mm. Which one is the correct Honda Mirror size? 8mmX1.25? OR 8mmX1.00? I looked in the parts manual but that doesn't specify the size. I had already bought a pair of NEW (repop) perches only to find out the mirror threads on those are 10mm.
