A quick question; Is it possible for the timing on a Dream to be out by 180 degrees? Thanks, Jeff.

Thank you. Now I can move on. My bike is behaving like it is 180 out and only since I changed my points and "adjusted" everything. I think I am the culprit. :)

How will it behave if it is 180 deg off?

Well, it is turning over forever without a hint of starting. It has a fuel supply, good battery, carb seems to be fine, good spark plugs and wires, coil is good. My understanding is that if it is 180 out then it is firing a spark into the chamber on the exhaust stroke when there is no compressed air/fuel to ignite instead of throwing a spark on the compression stroke, thus igniting the fuel/air mixture with the resultant explosion forcing the pistons to move and etc, etc. I just have to figure out how to check and adjust the problem. Cheers.

A Dream is supposed to fire on the exhaust stroke (Type II) engine.
Since the pistons rise and fall together, and there is only one set of points, it is called a "wasted spark" system, and the plugs fire on both compression and exhaust.
Have you checked the timing?

Jeff, I don't think you can alter the timing 180 degrees by changing the points. Does the bike have spark? If not, make sure you attached the wire to the points correctly, it must be insulated from the points base with the plastic washers and collar.
