Replacement for Stock Controls

Hi guys,

My starter switch is broken and I've been having problems locating another one- so instead of replacing it with a stock one, I was thinking of using one from a bike that has turn signals as well as a starter switch. Has anyone done this? In my mind it should be a pretty simple swap...but let me know if I'm way off base...
