What next

Post by paperslammer » Mon Jul 15, 2013 3:14 pm

Thanks Oldstan - I have something that works now.

Is there anything else I should do while I'm inside the casing? Anything else I should check on?

Oh and there should be two ball bearings between the end of the gearshaft / gear axel and the right side casing, correct? I found two in there. (I think it was the gearshaft).

Thanks

Actually I think you are looking at the clutch pushrod and on my bikes I am pretty sure there is only one bearing between the rod and the case. There is also a bearing on the kickstart mechanism.

Something like this works fine: http://www.mfgsupply.com/32-5801.html?s ... QgodTG0A3w
You find them any place where chain saws and garden tools are sold.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to work on this on Saturday and I'll put up some pictures and a how-to on replacing the clutch cable and taking the side panel off.
